Finding a therapist is a lot like starting any new relationship, you can’t just swipe right for the perfect match (although hopefully that will be a thing one day) You have to message them or give them a call. They most likely will not answer, don’t get discouraged. More than likely they are in session, leave a voicemail with your name and number so they can give you a call back.
De la Tierra Wellness Collective was born out of the desire to connect community based wellness providers, healers, thinkers, and the larger community to work towards emotional, psychological, sexual, and spiritual liberation and fulfillment. The name De la Tierra or “of the earth” is a derivation from Fanon’s Wretched of the Earth and my ancestral ties to Mexico’s rich lands of Guerrero.
For the woman who wants to labor at home as long as possible. Included is one home visit per trimester. During labor at home monitoring includes vital checks, fetal heart tones, and cervical dilation checks. Your OB/GYN receives updates. I will go with you to the hospital at the appropriate time, where I remain in a Doula role. During your postpartum care you will have one lactation visit and two postpartum visits.
My therapeutic niche is working with those who experienced chronic childhood trauma (C-PTSD). This includes child abuse, neglect, attachment trauma, dysfunctional families, and adult children of alcoholics. I work with a broad range of experiences, including identity exploration, existential concerns, ancestral trauma, healing, and life transitions. Depending on your goals and needs, I incorporate projective tools (symbols, imagery, oracle cards) in a therapeutic way. Through EMDR and other practices, we can address issues like creative blocks and limiting behaviors.
I am dedicated to affirming care that welcomes all aspects of a client’s identity, lived experience, and cultural context. I offer virtual sessions to those residing in the state of California.
In my former life, I was a PhD neuroscientist. And then I became a Mother. I was bitten by “the bug” a long time before I actually pursued my lactation education and doula training. As in all life journeys, it took me a while to recognize that nagging “bug” was my passion for helping Mothers and their babies achieve whatever goals THEY want to achieve.
