The relationship we have with our madres is one of, if not THE most important, relationship we have in our lives. Yes, even if it isn’t a good one or don’t have an active relationship with them at all.

Whether they’re in our lives or not, the relationship we have with our mamás shapes us.

How we relate to others, how we receive love and support, how we nurture ourselves, and how much we feel like we belong, are all greatly affected by our relationship to our mamis.

So if we’re experiencing issues with connection in our closest relationships, the first area we should seek to heal is our Madre Wound.

Our Healing the Madre Wound Introductory Workshop supports daughters of Latinx/Chicanx ancestry who are now mothers to identify the nature of their Madre Wound, and begin to heal it so that they can establish more deeply nourishing relationships with themselves, and their children.

Remothering Yourself To Become A Better Mamá

Now that you’re a mamá to your own child(ren), you may find yourself feeling triggered by their behavior and unable to meet their needs in similar ways that our mothers didn’t or couldn’t meet ours.

So we’re left with an important choice…

We can push forward not healing or addressing our trauma, feeling exhausted, and on the verge of blowing up at our kids at any moment, OR we can choose to do the deep and loving work of remothering ourselves in order to establish deeply nourishing and beautifully connected relationships with ourselves and our niñes.

Of course, you’re here because you really want the latter. Our Healing the Madre Wound Introductory Workshop is here to give you the foundation for this healing process.

Here’s what you’ll learn in this one-of-a-kind workshop:

How to navigate your relationship with your mother amid or in response to harmful & hurtful behaviors

How to set boundaries both with yourself and with your mother figure around the relationship you’ve had with them

“I felt seen and understood!”

I felt seen and understood! Like someone finally put into words all I've been working on with my own healing journey. Knowing its ok to experience all the loss I feel yet at the same time feeling proud for showing up and taking care of myself. I felt validated. Loved way Leslie explained the inner parts of ourselves as inner Nina, inner madre, and abuelita or spirit self. I've learned about these different parts of self before from self compassion courses I've taken, but I had heard them like this. It really resonated with me. Such a beautiful presentation!
— Crystal D.

“I ended up gaining peace through accessing guidance for healing”.

This workshop is a powerful way to begin identifying the hurt and trauma we experience in our culture. Oftentimes, we do not speak about the unhealthy relationships we have with our mothers for fear of hurting them or guilt of even feeling this way. I loved the "permission" to have a safe space to hear from others like me, that LOOK like me (Latina) and feel that I am not alone in this journey. It also helped me see that there is generational trauma and my mother is also a victim on marianismo. I hope that one day I am able to build courage and confidence to talk to my mother about this so she can begin to her healing and forgiving herself too.

I almost didn't attend because I was afraid of what might surface in me right before giving birth to my third child (due any day now), but I ended up gaining peace through accessing guidance for healing.
